Staying With Us

Thank you for your interest in HavenHouse. We have implemented the following criteria to ensure we provide quality service in support of our guests whose children receive medical care in St. Louis.

Criteria and Eligibility for Services:

• The patient must receive treatment from a participating hospital.
• The family must live at least 25 miles or more from the hospital.
• The initial referrals for admission must be received from a participating hospital.
• The family must agree to HavenHouse policies and guest guidelines.
• Patients that are 21 years old and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
• Parents with children receiving medical care that are under the age of 21 will be admitted on a case-by-case basis.
• A maximum of four persons to a room, unless special arrangements are made with staff

Referral Process:

1. The social worker, hospital care coordinator or other medical professional completes the HavenHouse Guest Registry.
2. The hospital care coordinator or medical professional faxes the Guest Registry to HavenHouse St. Louis (314) 434-6541.
3. HavenHouse calls the hospital staff or family to confirm the registration or faxes a written confirmation.
4. Upon arrival the guest completes a registration that includes signing the Guest Guidelines, Guest Indemnification Form, Media Release, and Privacy Statement and submitting a copy of photo ID. Each family is given a brochure with helpful information, taken on a tour of the facilities, and shown to their room.
5. HavenHouse staff will maintain contact with the family, referring hospital or medical staff should additional needs or questions arise, and the hospital may contact staff or social work students at any time for additional assistance or special needs for families.
