We invite you to join our community of support at HavenHouse St. Louis. Because of our small staff, we rely upon the generous donation of time, talent and treasure from many dedicated volunteers for these special families who are far away from home during a time of stress. Volunteers bring sunshine to the lives of our guests while they are staying with us, whether it is for one night or several months.
We appreciate your interest in helping HavenHouse to take care of the more than 7,000 people each year who rely on us. Without you, we would not exist or be able to deliver our services. Volunteers Matter – Get Involved!
Ready to volunteer? Submit a volunteer application, visit VolunteerMatch.com to view our current volunteer postings or contact Paula to discuss available opportunities.
Host an event - Enlist the help of family, friends and co-workers in a creative fundraiser or supply drive to benefit HavenHouse. Gather your friends and family to create a fundraising team or get your company, church, synagogue or civic group involved.
Contact or visit local business to gather discount coupons/passes to attractions, movies, haircuts and restaurants - We distribute these coupons to our guest families.
With 33 guest rooms, we welcome creative, energetic corporate or church groups to “adopt” a room, which includes prepping the walls, repainting and redecorating. Volunteers experience a great sense of accomplishment, team building, giving back and sense of community.

Thank you for your interest in helping HavenHouse St. Louis meet its mission: to provide the comfort of home and a community of support to families that travel to St. Louis to receive medical care. HavenHouse could not exist without the help of the volunteers.
Here are a few of the available Volunteer Opportunities:
Families, individuals, community or faith groups deliver homecooked meals on a Saturday or Sunday evening by 4pm for approximately 35 people. What is your specialty?
Volunteers answer the phones, greet families and visitors, open the door for deliveries, answer questions, give tours to guests who are checking in, provide general assistance and manage the front lobby. The warmth of a smiling volunteer sets the tone for our families arriving at HavenHouse.
Volunteers help with minor repairs, fix-it chores, plumbing or electrical maintenance.
When guests register for more than three days, they are asked if they would like a volunteer Host Family to provide transportation to mid-day appointments, pick them up at the airport, take them to the zoo or other local attractions, or to a nearby mall or grocery store. Host Families are often sought as translators for international guests so their stay can be more comfortable. This is an opportunity to develop a lifelong friendship.
Groups organize supply drives to fulfill the Wish List of needed items. Volunteers organize and run our agency auctions and golf events, and members of the Friends Committee plan and run neighborhood events and smaller fundraisers to introduce HavenHouse to others and raise money at the same time.
